An anniversary card.

This card was one of the trails I made while making card for my parents anniversary. I had used the ball pattern the most on this card.  The other concept that inspired me is the flower. Initially I cut 6 petals but felt the 4 petal design looked more elegant and this is what I had end up with.

Thank you !!

Its so good to say thank you and with a card it is more wonderful. I have a friend of mine whom I want to say thanks to and thus I came up with the card. Appu, you are the inspiration to this card. Miss you darling.

Mom n Dad's Anniversary.

This one is the card I made for my mom and dad on their 27th anniversary. I miss you both too much.
I always gave a card to you, on time and in person. But this time its different, for unavoidable circumstances.
I hope you enjoyed your dinner :-)

Thank you Revathy akka for helping out with the celebrations.

I am also submitting this card for the Day 166- challenge Squared on 365 cards.

Li'll Birdie On The Wall

I could not leave the push pins area where the keys are hung idle. It looked too boring, which is why I left a bird perched on the craft stick. I tied ribbon to the buttons and on the other end stuck the craft stick.
I made this little birdie with craft paper and used foam board stickers for adding more colour.

I Love You card

This card was made in less than 30 minutes. It's much easier if the pattern paper is cut in shapes and ready :-)

I had used some ribbon and pattern paper for the design which I glued behind the front leaf of the card. I then used a black marker to draw around the flower, to highlight it further. I had used chip board letters for I and U. I cut the shape of the heart from a red pattern paper and the border frame from a different blue pattern paper. I had stamped the ice flakes around, initially with the idea to use embossing powder. But then I thought the stamp alone blended well.

My nephew- Abhi

I only have this 2 X 2" photo of my nephew Abhiram. This little darling was safe in my wallet and that's how I have it with me here. I couldn't stop myself from making this little photo holder.

Abhi looks too innocent in this picture though he isn't really as innocent.
I miss you Abhi.

A card for my Dad

I made this card for my Dad on the eve of Father's Day. I couldn't give the card to him by hand yet as he is in India. Probably I will travel home soon and I will be able to give to him this card.

I first thought I could use the alphabet stamps on stickers to write the sentiment. However, I wanted the card to have the feel of me actually conveying the message and hence messed it up a little with my hand writing. I should probably take calligraphy classes now ;-)

Happy Father's day dear Dad.

A stamped card with some stitching.

For the card here I had only done stamping with some stitching to give it some pattern.
The stamping around the sentiment could have been better.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a nice day.

An easy to make card

I had to kill time while my husband was busy with some meeting late night the other day and that's when I made this card :-D

I had used foam alphabets and stickers, a few patterned paper and a color paper, single hole punch, white stamping ink and a white gel pen to make this card. It took about 30 minutes to make this card from scratch which is pretty quick.

Sketch O'Mania- Oh, I love your eye!

I couldn't wait to start sketching when I saw the sketch (Reference: A sketch of Ileana hunter). I was so inspired. I was looking for a subject for my next sketch and I found this. I just loved the way the eye was portrayed, as though some one is looking at us through the paper.

It looks so real and I only wondered if I could redo and achieve the photo-realism and this is what I arrived at. Not bad. Using the right tools at appropriate places does make the sketching job easy. How can I not thank Upender who lend me his prisma color pencils to complete the sketch.

Congratulations card

I got the flower design from Martha Stewart's site and I made this card.

Tools used: Corner Craft punch, white gel pen, Distress ink, Brown sketch, Patterned paper, Color paper, stone embellishments, Black card stock.

The gift card for Vidhu

I made this gift card for my nephew Vidhathru. He is a naughty bag. always pulls things down and makes a mess out of the house. He always keeps people around him alert as you never know when he will bless you with a punch or gift you a kick. So I thought this hunter picture should best describe him.

Thank god we saved this card from him before he didn't tear it into pieces.

My first Card for Raja.

This is the card I made for Raja when he is 28 and it's his first birthday with me. I hardly had any equipment or time on hand. I worked on it for over 2 weeks whenever I found time between preparations for our wedding.
This is the cover of the card. I used fluffy paints for writing the text and outlined it with silver and gold glitter pens. I used some transparent silver ribbon, mesh, colored paper, patterned paper and did paper quilling to ornate the card.

We need to remove the ribbon knot to open the cover. This is how it appears on unfolding the cover. I added a few tags and attached the card base to the cover. That's a hand made paper flower to the right corner of the card.

I have put three tags and made a small pink satin ribbon rose to decorate the pocket cover where I placed all the three tags.

And then the final unfold. Ta-da. There I wished him :-)
I had to carefully design and cut the paper to achieve the pop-up. I had used sketch pens and glitter pens of different colors to decorate the letters. All the embellishments are hand made using different colored and patterned papers.

Sketch O'Mania

My Mania for sketching evolved from doodling. I love cartooning and I occasionally paint with water colors and acrylics. However, the black and white cast its magic on me and I am addicted to pencil sketching. All this is self-taught and I feel gifted about it.

This is one of my very beginning experiment with graphite, when I dint know anything about an art eraser, blending stump and any basic sketching equipment.

Reference: Public search on internet and I don't remember the artist's name.

Tools used -- Steadler 2H, B, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B, charcoal sticks and an ordinary pencil eraser.
