Capturing the Moment

Hi all. It's a beautiful day here in Jersey. So here is my card for this Monday's challenge which is all about Capturing your moment  - How are you feeling at this moment? What major event is happening in your life or around you? Let that guide your card design.

My husband and I moved together into our first home the same time last year :-) So that 'moment of remembrance' guided my card below.

Do share your moment here at 365 cards here.  Hope you liked my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank you.

Thank Colourfully

Hi all. I am back with a card for 365 cards challenge. Here is the card for today's Challenge - ThrowBack @ 365 cards.

This time I was asked to choose any challenge from the year 2011 from 365 cards blog. I haven't done any sketch challenge for 365 cards and so I chose Day355-Friday Sketch Challenge here.

So do join the fun. Get inspired by the sketch and submit your entries for the challenge here @ 365 cards.

How I made the card?

This is a pretty simple sketch right? I was so inspired by Sophie's card for the day's challenge, that I wanted to do the same thing but dimensionally. So I went back to check my stash and the Scrap pack that I purchased from target, triggered an idea on my mind. I pulled out the card stocks in the same order they were arranged in the pack and cut out pieces of same length but different width (since that's how Sophie's card had on the pattern paper) as shown below.

I then arranged these cut pieces in the same order on my card. To add more interest to it, I added these black cords. I had used the stamped silhouette butterfly (SKU: 117D Medium Open Silhouette Butterfly) sponsored by DRS designs this week, for the embellishment.

I still wasn't satisfied with the card until I did this tiny little abstract drawing on the card. This compliemented so well with the sentiment. Hope you liked my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank you.

Update
Please refer to this post for a coincidence. I'm sure you will be shocked and surprised :-)

Get Transparent

Hi all. I am so excited; this is my 100th post. And what we have in 365 cards blog this Monday is to use an item on your card that is completely or somewhat see-through. It can be clear acrylic or vellum. Any other design element is up to you. Here is my take on it.

I have used vellum over the color splatter to diminish the brightness of the watercolors, so that they blend well with the rest of the card. Share your transparent creations here @ 365 cards and join the fun.

Hope you liked the card. Your opinion matters. Thank you.
