Bright Floral Backdrop

Hi all. It's been a long time that I had posted something here. I have an announcement to make - 'I'm expecting a baby'. Yes !! That kept me tired for the last few months. I was busy planning, preparing check lists and all. So I couldn't create anything for sometime.
However, I got a chance to work on something colourful, creative and challenging for a couple of weeks. We had to plan for a gender neutral baby shower decor and I obviously insisted that the decor be DIY. Today I want to share with you the floral backdrop that I had made for my baby shower.

Below is the whole setting which is about 12 feet wide and 5 feet high.

Challenge
I knew I wanted a floral back drop which is quite bright in color, since there were several restrictions to not tape anything on the walls at the function hall and only hooks which were already present could be used to hang any decor. Also the main wall had 3 large windows over which inevitably should be part of the backdrop.

  How I made it
I had to make some 80 flowers, 50 leaves and several lose petals to make this back drop. I had used the following tutorial @AshandCrafts to make all the flowers required. This tutorial has all the steps, in detail, required for making flowers. For leaves I have used freehand drawn templates. I also used several other petals of different shapes and sizes, which are freehand drawn too. I had scored leaves to add dimension, after they were cut in different sizes and shapes.

I then assembled all the flowers on large cardboard pieces (same as packing boxes), which were cut in the shape of the arch and then hung to the hooks and windows with the help of a balloon ribbon.

Materials Used
  1. Glue Gun
  2. Large Cardboard pieces
  3. Color papers - A4 size - 24lbs (brights staples)
  4. Balloon ribbon
  5. Pencil
  6. Marker
  7. Scissors
  8. Templates to cut petals and leaves
  9. Foam for scoring leaves.

A closer look at paper flowers and leaves of different colors, variety and sizes that I had made through out the setting.

Hope you liked the decor. Thanks for stopping by. Ta-Ta !!

Jungle party Invitations

Hi all. You all know that there was a jungle theme party that I have made arranged all the decorations for. There certainly were invitations for the same and following are a few of them.

Now take a peek at each one of them individually.

Since it's jungle theme its pretty obvious that there will be greenery and animals on the invites. The animals invite you to the party and also thank you (Gracious) on the favour bags. Below are a couple of them, which I had tagged to the brown bags (favour bags)

Hope you like these little cute invites. Your opinion matters. Thanks for peeking in.

Tags and Wraps

Hi all, I created this post exclusively to share the favour bags that I have created for the jungle themed party. I made a 50 of them for the party\, all of which were placed on a table in the party hall.

A Party in the Jungle

Hi all. I worked hard for a party ambiance this Saturday.  It was my friend's son's (Vihaan) 1st birthday and we decided to go by the 'Jungle Theme'.  You could take a look at the invitation for the party here

This is a trail ensemble that I have made at home before the party. I have used lawn fawn stamps and diecuts for making all the handmade stuff.

I used animal print pattern paper and made a few notes with several jungle quotes. The animal foot print is hand cut from a printout. I think that little lion is cute.

I placed some clay in that little paper cup to hold the stick with the candy label. Below are the other food labels that I have made for all the items on the party menu. I coloured all these animals with copic markers.

Below are a very few of the 50  favour bags that I have made. Its a simple 'gracious' note that I have placed on these bags. It's as if these animals are saying 'gracious' to all these guests on behalf of the hosts. This time I punched the grass.

Now here are a few lollypops with animals faces purchased online. I decorated the container with animal print paper and stuck a little zebra. Then placed some craft paper stuffing to cover the sponge below and placed a little hand cut grass.

You can take a closer look at the lollypop stand below.

Finally this is number 1 that is made out of a brown foam sheet and foam stickers - this is for the 1 year old Vihaan.

I'm submitting the entire ensemble above for "The Birthday Party Ensemble Challenge" of Birthday Creations week @ Moxie Fab World.

Finally a sneak peek of the main party wall that I had decorated. The banner with the name "Vihaan" too is handmade by me. Its a little grass pattern paper cut in the shape of a banner with wooden alphabets stuck on it. I shall post more picture of the party hall in my next post.

I could have posted all this earlier if only my laptop charger din't give up on me. Hope you liked the entire Jungle setup. Your opinion about the card matters. Thanks for peeking in.
