Orange blossom - Anniversary.

Hey, it's time I catch up with RIC # 76 challenge this fortnight. Below is my take on the challenge

The colours on this card and the entire scene is inspired from the outfit in the inspiration image below. I loved these bright colour. Perhaps I needed these bright colours to treat my eyes as all I see after the snowstorm is white and black in shades :-)

Another view at the card closely. I love the orange. Its mostly Orange Zest from PTI. and the rest are some copic markers. The trunk of the tree is painted with a bamboo skew, with dark chocolate PTI dye ink.

Roses

Hi all. This week's RIC # 66 challenge is quite interesting where all colours are brilliant. Here is my take on the challenge.    

  The wooden box in the background, the royal blue and the roses have clearly inspired me. The layout of the card too is inspired from the picture, if you know what I mean.     Hope you liked my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank You.  

Dazzle

Hi all. I love the weather here in New Jersey today. Also today is my parents anniversary and they are here with me. The drizzles, fog  and the occasion have set my mood for the day. So here is the card for today. 

Inspiration

Thanks to the electrifying runway picture @ RIC # 36 challenge this week. The colours used on the flower are all obviously influenced by the picture. Also the shape of the flower is sort of triangular, which is again inspired by the triangles on the outfit. I had inked a textured white card stock with red and purple to match the BG in the inspirational picture. Then with baby pink and light purple for the inner petals. I teased the edges of the flower with scissors for effect.

Just stamping !

Neon Bright - Paper piecing

Hi all. Here is the card for today that I made using techniques which I seldom use often.

This week @ 365 cards we need to create a card which is frame-able - i.e Create a card (a work of art) that you would consider worthy of framing and hanging on the wall. Do join the fun @ 365 cards this week. This is completely subjective, so it's totally up to you.

Coming to my take on the challenge, I thought of birds perched on tree, coloured subjects but din't trigger the idea for a such a card. Then I was surfing through the challenges when I came across "Pinspired Challenge #9". And their inspiration photo (below) immediately stemmed a  flower inside my mind.

How I made the card?

I hand-sketched flowers of different sizes on pink and orange neon papers, which I had cut in layers (paper piecing) to make the big flower. I simply stamped the background with birthday song lyrics, polkadots, leaves and added crystals around the flower. I had inked the edges of the base with distress ink and then teased the edges a bit, which added depth to the border.

Happy Together

Hi all and here is the card for today. This card is for my friend, Chandu, who is getting married tomorrow and is celebrating her Mehendi (kind of a traditional bachelorette party) in India right now.

This card was inspired  by the pinspiritational pic @ the pinspired challenges. The colour pencils in the picture triggered this idea of colour waves intertwining together and that's how the card took shape.

Card for today

Hi all, here is the card for today.

Challenge for today @ 365 cards blog is Pretty Petals – add flowers to your card two ways: stamp or patterned paper and a faux flower (at least one flower). I'd love to see your ideas over this challenge.

How I made this card?
The faux flower is made out of news paper. I have referred to this tutorial on youtube for making this flower. Rest is all about placing the pattern paper, stamping on a mint colour paper topped with a brown ribbon. I added more interest to this card with stitches on top

Sweet Summer Anniversary

Hi, here is my card for today.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges.

Put a stamp on it @ Simon Says Stamp here. Everything you see on this card is stamped. The flower I had stamped in from Hero arts, while the other design in the background is stamped from a set from Inkadinkado.

An anniversary card.

This card was one of the trails I made while making card for my parents anniversary. I had used the ball pattern the most on this card.  The other concept that inspired me is the flower. Initially I cut 6 petals but felt the 4 petal design looked more elegant and this is what I had end up with.

Mom n Dad's Anniversary.

This one is the card I made for my mom and dad on their 27th anniversary. I miss you both too much.
I always gave a card to you, on time and in person. But this time its different, for unavoidable circumstances.
