Congratulations - For the one out with flying colours.

Hi all. This week's CTS # 52 is up with a simple sketch, looking at which I knew what I'll be doing right away. Here is my take on it.

I have painted the wide strip of paper in patches with 4 PTI inks, diluted in water - Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian shores, and Lemon Tart. These colours smudged off so well. Then I have used a memory box die cut for the circles background and for the 'Congratulations' banner I have used tilted banners die cut from Simon Says Stamp. Love birds again

Hi all. Here is the card I made for the Casual Fridays challenge # 117.
I took the "CFC # 117 - In stitches" literally. So I put my birds and the little red heart within the stitches on this card.

A floral inspiration.

Hi all. After a while I am taking part in Pinspired challenge # 16 this week.

I first stamped the entire card with various floral stamps from PTI and Wplus9 in different inks. I then die cut the front of the card. The sentiment that you see on the card is stamped on the inside leaf of the card. Here is a closer peek at the sentiment.

The theme and the colours used on this card are totally inspired by the pin picture of the Pinspired challenge #16

Love birds.

Hi all. I made this cute card after like what seemed an eon.     

    Those love birds are made from the Pista shells, which I coloured with copic markers. The sentiment is from my favourite things. The heart is punched out and the rest is all hand drawn and coloured. I'm submitting this card for the CTS Challenge # 42.

Congratulations - Banners

Hi all. I simply couldn't resist the CFC Challenge # 104 this Friday, as its about banners and flags, which happens to be my favourite. So here is another card for today.

Obviously my card is submitted for the CFC 104 challenge.

I saw the challenge and I instantly hopped in to make this card. I simple cut out multiple banners from various pattern papers, of various sizes. I had to arrange them all and adhere them around the tooth picks, which is my flag-post. Then I stamped the sentiment, designs and did some doodling to add more interest.

Dazzle

Hi all. I love the weather here in New Jersey today. Also today is my parents anniversary and they are here with me. The drizzles, fog  and the occasion have set my mood for the day. So here is the card for today. 

Inspiration

Thanks to the electrifying runway picture @ RIC # 36 challenge this week. The colours used on the flower are all obviously influenced by the picture. Also the shape of the flower is sort of triangular, which is again inspired by the triangles on the outfit. I had inked a textured white card stock with red and purple to match the BG in the inspirational picture. Then with baby pink and light purple for the inner petals. I teased the edges of the flower with scissors for effect.

Neon Bright - Paper piecing

Hi all. Here is the card for today that I made using techniques which I seldom use often.

This week @ 365 cards we need to create a card which is frame-able - i.e Create a card (a work of art) that you would consider worthy of framing and hanging on the wall. Do join the fun @ 365 cards this week. This is completely subjective, so it's totally up to you.

Coming to my take on the challenge, I thought of birds perched on tree, coloured subjects but din't trigger the idea for a such a card. Then I was surfing through the challenges when I came across "Pinspired Challenge #9". And their inspiration photo (below) immediately stemmed a  flower inside my mind.

How I made the card?

I hand-sketched flowers of different sizes on pink and orange neon papers, which I had cut in layers (paper piecing) to make the big flower. I simply stamped the background with birthday song lyrics, polkadots, leaves and added crystals around the flower. I had inked the edges of the base with distress ink and then teased the edges a bit, which added depth to the border.

Metal+URGEy

Here is my card for today.

 I am submitting this card for the ICR challenge # 21 Sketch + Metal-'URGE'y. I must say it is one of a kind challenge. I had to think hard to include appropriate design to suit the kind of metal I use on the card. And even the layout is restricted to one of the two sketches (Thank god I had a choice). I went with the sketch 1.

Here are a few close up where I had used metal on my card. I had used a safety pin and a few metal beads and a leaf I had to finish that tiny embellishment hanging below the sentiment.

I love this typical embellishment of an ancient coin design. I totally loved it and saved it to use on one of my best projects, which inspires me the most.

Here is my second card for today.

I dedicate this card to one of the naughtiest kiddo, brother, whatever I may call -- Adhi.(Aditya). Aditya Teja means Sunlight; which is yellow in colour. And hence the yellow colour on this card.

Growing love for you.

Here is the card for today. I am submitting this card for the Shopping Our Stash challenge 67- Wooden it be nice here. They have an excellent DT team which definitely inspires you.

I had to show growing love, implies I have to show growth, which is why I choose the tree. For the challenge I had used the wooden grained paper and also inked it up a little with my brush tool to add more dimension and prominently show the wooden texture. I drew some random white lines on a green color paper and then cut the paper in the shape of tiny leaves quickly and stuck them over the card to complete the tree. The big leaves are special :-D The sentiment is handwritten.

Halloween- BOOOOOO !!!!

This is my first Halloween card and the Day 174- Surprise inside challenge @ 365 cards has triggered the idea for this card. And the colors I choose to make this card are inspired by the image @ RIC#18 Challenge.

So, here are different shots of the cover of my card.

 My inspiration for the cover of the card comes from this image I found on net.

I have used bards and twine to bind the card and keep it closed. So one had to unwind the twine to get inside the card.

and then BOOO !!!!! The Halloween ghost pops out of the card and the 3-D pumpkin wishes "A Happy Halloween". There is Boo Boo everywhere.
