Back 2 School

Here is the other card that I made today. This card is dedicated to all the toppers in their respective classes :-)

I am submitting this card for the CFC68- Top of the Class challenge @ CAS-ual Fridays. I have used a black card stock and sprayed some white color on it. I simply cut the books from different coloured papers. The sentiment is very simple -  'A+'. It hardly took me 15 minutes to complete this card from the scratch.

The challenge is all about making a "Back to School" cards. Their DT sure provides best inspiration for the participants. It inspired me so much that I made a second card for the day at a stretch. It's a fun challenge. Do join it.

I am also submitting this card for the Card Design Handbook Week - The Asymmetry Challenge here @ The Moxie Fab World. My card is asymmetrical and is more concentrated to the right, however the 3 small glitter embellishments on the top left and more brighter paint sprayed there balances the visual weight of the card over all

I am also submitting the card for the Simon Says...Anything goes challenge here.
Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank you.

Do what you like often.

Here is the card for today. The sentiment on this card is one of my favourites.

I am submitting this card for the following challenges.

Day 182- Pick a Pattern @ 365 Cards. I have used Toile, Gingham and Polka dot patterns for making this card.  I have used the mini butterfly punch and I totally love them on the card.

ABSC053 Challenge @ Annabelle Stamps here. I have used their sketch for making this card.

Simon Says..Anything Goes challenge here.

Hope you too enjoyed my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank you.

----Update---
I made it to Top 3 shares @ Annabelle Stamps with this card. Refer post here.

Beautiful Texture

I didn't get a chance to take pictures of cards I made from the past 2 days and hence the delay in updating by blog :-D
Here is the card I made 2 days ago.

I am submitting this card for the Day 182 - Textured treatment challenge @ 365 Cards. I have used a bright Yellow color textured paper and applied some wild honey distress ink, to give it some shade and to highlight the texture further. Then I added more texture by using some fabric designed and embossed flowers below the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped on a mild pattern paper and I have embossed it with black embossing powder.

Side angle to get a better view of the texture and the design.

I am also submitting this card for the following challenges
Hearts @ CMM Here. The challenge askks for us to have a heart on the card. i or 1 million ;-) I have used a small and simple heart (all of us have one heart) to go with the sentiment.
DL.Art Thankful Thursday challenge # 16 here - I have used fabric flowers
Also, I want to get featured at Inspire me Fridays, So I am submitting this card Here as well.

Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion about this card matters. Thank You.

Little Mermaid turned 16

Here is the card for today.

How I made the card?
The little mermaid on this card is hand drawn and colored using crayola crayons :-D. No markers and no stamping was involved. I stamped the white card stock with bubble clear stamps and blue, sea green and sky blue color ink pads both from Inkadinkado. I cut the waves from a pattern paper. I stuck a sea shell which was deformed, to look like a rock the mermaid is resting over. The sentiment is some stickers and the number is silver embossed.

Is something new?
Yes, I tried mixing up different shades of inks together while applying ink to the stamp. Hence the bubbles have different shades though they are stamped at once. For the number on the sentiment, I have used left overs from a sticker to make a pattern and then stamped the embossing ink. After embossing, I removed the stickers and it left a beautiful design and texture on the number as shown below.

My Favourite Things
I love doodling, colouring and card making. When I combine them all I enjoy the most. I enjoy stamping and embossing. My third favourite supply is ribbon. I have used them all on this card and this is one my favourites now :-D

Where is the card going?
I am submitting this card for the following challenges (click on the challenges to know more details)

Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion about the card matters. Thank you.

Banner for My Dear

First things First, here is my card for today.

Wondering what inspired me? Well then here is 'Why' and 'How' ;-) There is an exciting challenge at CFC67 - Casual Fridays.

This challenge asks for "A Clean And Simple project that features banners or flags". I haven't done a banner or flag lately on a card and this challenge is what I wanted.
Then I was thinking about the kind of pattern paper and stamps to look at, which is when the
Spots or Stripes challenge at Pink Piggy
Say it with...Spots, dots and anything Round at Annabelle stamps
has given me an idea. I have used spots for the flower, the pattern paper and the washy tape. There are stripes on the banners used for making the flower and also the blue washy tape has stripes on it.
So I am submitting the card for these two challenges as well

Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion about this card matters. Thank you.

Hi There - Sunshine

Here is the Yellow (my favorite color) card I made yesterday. It's such a bright color and is so refreshing to see.

I made this card for the SP Design Team call here. I have stamped the design, above the handwritten sentiment, with Cantaloupe. I have stamped the card stock with inkadinkado clear stamps using Dandelion color. Hope you liked my card. Have a bright yellow day :-)

Halloween- BOOOOOO !!!!

This is my first Halloween card and the Day 174- Surprise inside challenge @ 365 cards has triggered the idea for this card. And the colors I choose to make this card are inspired by the image @ RIC#18 Challenge.

So, here are different shots of the cover of my card.

My inspiration for the cover of the card comes from this image I found on net.

I have used bards and twine to bind the card and keep it closed. So one had to unwind the twine to get inside the card.
and then BOOO !!!!! The Halloween ghost pops out of the card and the 3-D pumpkin wishes "A Happy Halloween". There is Boo Boo everywhere.

I am also submitting this card for the RIC # 18 challenge here
 ----Update----
I had great fun making this card. And I was chosen to be the Guest Designer (GDT) for the challenge. Hope you too enjoyed my card. Your opinion about this card matters :-) Thank you.

My Best Wishes

First things first as they say, so here is my card.

Now the why and how part of the card ;-)
Why? I am submitting the card for two challenges.
How? I got so interested with the Lawnscaping challenge # 40, that I got started with the card right away. This challenge got me driven in the direction to design an appropriate background for the violet weeds.

I am also submitting this card for the Make your Own Background @ Anything challenge here.
Now I need a perfect layout for the card which I found at the Super Sketchy Sunday challenge @ 365 cards

Ta-Da and so that's how the card was created :-)
Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion about the card matters.

Muted :-) Simple card

I have submitted this card for the Day 171- Muted challenge @ 365 cards.  It's a clean, small and simple card, with no prominent design and I won the Spotlight Designer award for this card here :-)
Thank you so much 365 cards; this is my first award. I am so motivated and excited.

Hope you liked my card. Your opinion and feedback matters :-)

Book Mark-ED

This is my first bookmark and I have created this for the Minty Fresh Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I went through all my supplies to find the right colors and in the process I happened to reorganize my  craft desk and it looks better and more accessible :-)

Also, for the sentiment, I thought in lines of a "book worm", worm through bug and then arrived at the "Buggerfly". It's totally fun.

I am also submitting this bookmark for the Card Making Mamas "a new challenge" as this is the first bookmark project I have made :-)

Mint now happens to be my new favorite after this little creation. Hope you enjoyed it. Your opinion about this bookmark matters.

ENJOYed- Color scheme combo.

I made this card for the Day170- color scheme challenge @ 365 cards. At first it took me time to think of a design and color combination which doesn't remind one of the July 4th :-) Later I discovered that the thinking    gave me ideas for 3 other cards. I enjoyed the challenge thoroughly, which I expressed through the sentiment. I totally love the challenges at 365 cards.

And here is the card. Hope you enjoyed the card. Your opinion about the card matters.

A card for House Warming

I am submitting this card for the Shape-up challenge "Anything but Square" @ MAWTT. This is my first challenge with them.

The design and inspiration for this card obviously came from the occasion for which the card was made.
The door to the card can me opened and then It reads congrats. (I need to focus more on calligraphy. I must write better to make the cards look better)

I didn't want to show my bad hand writing and so I dint open the door wide, but I slid it enough that you can see some thing is written and decorated behind the door opened in this angle

This reminded me of the traditional house that I sketched a lot as a 7-8 year old kid :-)
Hope you enjoyed my card. Your opinion is most welcome.

Lets sail !

I made this card for the Cas-ual Fridays challenge (CFC66). I had once thought about using the shells I collected at Cape-May beach for making a card. This challenge re-surfed the idea for me and so finally, here is the card. Great Idea !

I just had to cut and paste different color and pattern papers for the design with a hand written sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed the card ! Your opinion and feedback are most welcome.

You are special !

This card is special for me as I hand always wanted to use the Paisley design on my card and this is my first attempt. I sketched the design and colored it with different colors of acrylic. I love the way it looks so hand colored and the texture it left after drying.

I had done stitching after a really long time and this card fits very well into the super sketchy Sunday challenge @ 365 cards.

Li'll one pops out of egg.

I sketched the interesting idea of a little baby, just born out of a cracked egg. I then colored it with crayons and then brushed the glossy accent on the egg shell to make it shine (though the shine is not reflecting well in the pic).  This is one of the very simple cards that I have made. It took just about 20 minutes for me to complete this card from the scratch.

I am submitting this card for the centered challenge here.

Tri-Fold card -Birthday

I am submitting this card for the Tri-Fold card challenge here. I haven't actually written anything behind the card but then I have left a message, for one of my friends for his birthday, inside the card.

I love the challenges at 365 cards. They help me with an idea everyday to exercise my mind to creatively create a card.

A card for my Nephew.

I visited my cousin's place (Texas) this weekend. I had to make a card for little darling Pranav. He is a lovely boy with great love for cars (all boys do :-)), which is why I decorated the card with cars. Every car is hand drawn and colored.

I wanted the card to look all boy-ish, which is why I have chosen a navy green card base and avoided pink in any form ;-)

Here is the inside of the card. I wrote a note for him and placed his caricatures, that I sketched, into the pocket shown.

I have also submitted this card for the 365 days card challenge here. This was the card that struck my mind as soon as I read the challenge.

Anniversary card - For a challenge

This is a card I am submitting for the 365 cards challenge here. This is the first challenge I am taking up online. This card is about congratulating two spirited souls on their anniversary. The two colorful kites here depict the free and happy couple.

After the 3 week long break (trip), I am so happy to work on a card again.
Hope you enjoyed this card. Have a good day.
